Membership - Come join us!

North Carolina has many families in 7 Chapters scattered across the state. Each Chapter has the flexibility to camp on its own schedule and any location they choose. Chapters number from about 3 families to 25. Children and pets are welcome by most chapters. The size, type, and manufacturer of your rig doesn’t matter. Everyone is welcome including tent campers to big rigs. Many of us started out tent camping and some still do. We have two Statewide Campouts for all chapters each year; some Districts also have a campout, and the retirees have two. There is one Retiree Chapter. Check out the chapter information below. Carolina Cardinals

Carolina Cardinal Camping ClubThe Carolina Cardinal Camping Club was formed in 1969. There are still 5 charter families who are active campers.

The club camps 9 months of the year (March through November) on the third Saturday weekend.

One family is responsible for hosting the campouts. The campouts are usually within 100 miles of Concord. The three winter months are eating-meetings at area restaurants.

Raleigh Road Runners

The Raleigh Roadrunners club has been an active FCRV chapter for 40 years. Members range in age from mid thirties to post retirement. We welcome families with children.

We have no restrictions on types of rigs. Our members enjoy camping in tents, truck campers, travel trailers, fifth wheels and motor homes.

We normally camp the second weekend of each month from March through November. Members are asked to host one campout per year at a site of their choice.

You may see us at Hagan Stone, Briarcliff, Smithfield KOA, Flintlock Campground, Tranters Creek, Camp Clearwater, Wilmington KOA, Dan Nichols Park, Jordan Lake (Poplar Point & Crosswinds), Creekwood Farms RV Park, Mayberry Campground, Bandits Roost, Twin Lakes and many other sites across the state.

Randolph Ramblers

The Randolph Ramblers Camping Club, a chapter of FCRV, was organized March 27, 1965. The club received its Charter in the fall of 1965 at the State Campout. The Ramblers typically camp the third weekend of the month March or April through October and holds luncheon meetings from November until spring.

The Randolph Ramblers enjoy fun, fellowship, covered dish suppers, cookouts, and camping with other chapters at statewide and district campouts each year.

The chapter hosts Boy Scout Troop 571 at it's Spring Campout. The troop consists of challenged, adult Scouts from Randolph County.

Weekend Wanders

Weekend Wander’s has a 40 year history.

The chapter usually camps the second full weekend of the month, 8 months of the year at various camp grounds and RV parks usually within a two hour trip. Several members have earned national FCRV awards.

The chapter is at Jacksonville NC. The members camp in all types of units from tents to Motor Homes. The chapter’s history has had many military family campers who have travelled throughout the world and moved throughout America. All have unique histories which we love to hear about and share.

Traveling Tarheels

Traveling Tarheels The Traveling Tarheels Retiree chapter camps for about a week in August and the Tuesday - Thursday before the NC Statewide Campout weekends.
